Calcutta High Court order for Durga Puza Immersion on Vijaya Dashmi in 2016
BJP is maligning Bengal CM for
Immersion of Durga Idols on Vijaya Dashami of 2016 by quoting the Judgment of
Justice Dipankar Dutta of Calcutta High Court whereas the Final Judgment was
delivered by a division Bench which just slightly modified the order of Calcutta
Police commissioner by two hours only for house hold owned Puzas. The order is
given below-
“Kolkata, 06 October: In partial modification
of the restrictions imposed by police, Calcutta High Court has extended
the deadline for immersion of Durga idols of household Pujas in Bengal by two
hours on Dashami 11
October.
Hearing
into a public interest litigation (PIL), a division bench of Chief Justice
Girish Chandra Gupta and Justice Arindam Sinha today ruled that the
household Durga Puja’s can immerse the idols until 06 pm on Dashami, instead of
the 04 pm deadline that police had set.
However,
for community Durga Pujas across Bengal, the deadline for idol immersion would
remain at 04 pm as has been instructed by the local police stations everywhere.
To make
room for Muharram processions on 11 October, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had
on 30 August announced some restrictions vis-à-vis immersion of Durga idols.
The police subsequently issued orders to the Puja organisers all over the state
in keeping with the CM’s instructions.
Going by
this, the immersion was to be allowed only until 04 pm on the day of Dashami 11
October, and Muharram processions were to start from 05 pm.
Again,
there will be no immersion of idols on 12 October, which is an official holiday
on account of Muharram. The idol immersion would resume again for throughout
the day on 13 October.
Therefore the noises made by some
purchased channel of BJP in Delhi and their leadership in Bengal is just a
political noise pollution. B J P should know that their Muslim appeasement formula
to malign Mamata is not going to work in Bengal to divide people. B J P has no other
agenda than to exploit Hindus emotionally to destroy sentiments of mutual trust
among the Hindus and Muslims for political benefit. Yes B J P brother go to
court and get thrashed like last year.
