Political corruption is the mother of all corruptions in India
Corruption begins at top and
reaches bottom levels like flow of water. Since the top is reigned supreme by
political people, it is the politicians who are the root cause of all
corruptions in India. And thankfully people of India understand this very well and
this thought reverberates across the people of India irrespective of their caste,
creed, religion etc.
The recent happenings in Bihar
has once again bared open this fact when Nitish Kumar jumped RJD band wagon and
landed into the lap of BJP in a less than 24 hours of most opportunistic
maneuvering act India has ever seen.
Therefore whitewashing the top
coat only by attempting to eradicate financial corruptions while taking
opportunistic stand devoid of moral quality in political situations (or
political prostitution in other words) cannot eradicate corruption of any form
in India.
This what exactly the Congress
(INC) used to do during it’s hey days. In fact BJP has shown more merit than
Congress in the matter of Political Prostitution. The process of annihilation
of regional parties by BJP has already begun and NItish is the best catch the
BJP ever had.
Unfortunately, the process of eradication
of political prostitution was half heartedly attempted by Rajib Gandhi through
enacting an Anti Defection Act although this Act has been able to control the
Aya Rams and the Gaya Rams ( आया राम गया राम )only to an extent. But this Act was and is unable to
handle situations like the 'Nitish episode'.
Therefore the need of the hour
his a stringent anti defection law which will simply tell that elected representatives cannot leave their
party and join or float any other political party, whatever be their numbers, without
getting disqualified.
I am surprised that BJP the flag bearers
of clean politics have never attempted to frame a new anti defection law or
amend the existing one to force the politicians to adhere to people’s mandate.
Modiji has now the capability to do the same because of his numbers in Lok
Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Unless this is done, politicians
will continue to use politics to their advantage and with regime changes the
Pandora’s box of corruption would continued to be exposed publicly, be it BJP
or any other political entity.
